The Braun L 420 is a freestanding column loudspeaker that brings the same formal discipline of Rams' earlier audio work into a vertical format. Its proportions are precisely calibrated — neither furniture nor appliance, but something between the two. The speaker sits on its own shadow, the cabinet appearing to float just above the floor.
