KSM 1

The Braun KSM 1 is a hand-operated coffee and spice grinder reduced to its essentials. Reinhold Weiss stripped away every convention of the traditional mill — the ornamental body, the decorative crank — and replaced them with a white cylindrical vessel and a single clean handle. The result is an object of quiet radicalism: a grinder that looks like nothing that came before it.
